VISIT TO THE SALARJUNG MUSEUM AND CHOWMAHALLA PALACE
The students of IIS from classes VI to VIII went on a field trip to Salarjung Museum. They were quite excited to go on this trip. The museum is a magnificent massive structure comprising of two floors, each floor has a different room displaying works of art from different parts of the world. The major attraction was the chiming clock placed in the courtyard. Students were captivated by the array of exquisite pieces of art in glass, porcelain, metal and ivory.
Everyone was mesmerised by the fine intricate designs of art done in the 18th century. It kept us all wondering as to how one person could manage a collection of this enormity from all over the world.
In addition to this visit the students of class III to V went on a visit to the Chowmahalla Palace. The palace is surrounded by lush green grass and beautiful fountains let the way to the entrance of the palace. The name Chowmahalla Palace is derived from the fact that there are four different palaces on that premises.
Students got a peep into the luxurious life of the Nizam the fine at lire used by the members of Nizam and his family . Vintage vehicles one of which was especially made to order for the Nizam. Also there was the court from where day to day activities were carried out made of marble. All this was like a feast to the eyes of the students giving them an insight to the Hyderabad’s culture and tradition.
